Diffusion I Available Again (Briefly)

I've just received word that the a POD (print-on-demand) version of Diffusion Volume 1 is available for a limited time. In an age where people were/are fleeing the magazine industry for fear that there will be no room in the universe for print publications and the internet, Diffusion emerged as the only magazine devoted solely to "unconventional photography." Unconventional means not just subject matter, but also anything that involves a process beyond hitting the DELETE or PRINT button on your 10 mega-pixel point and shoot. Diffusion is a lavish effort that honors photography with a viewable resolution greater than 72dpi. It also assumes that artists have more than a sound-byte statement to offer on their work.

The reason I bring Diffusion's reissue up is twofold. One: all proceeds from sales of the POD issue help raise funds for Volume III (featuring, rumor has it, an interview with the exceedingly talented Dan Estabrook). Reason two: it contains a lengthy interview with yours truly. An interview, I'd like to think, that is best experienced in print form, as that is most in keeping with the ideas I espouse therein.

In the studio with great regularity now to prepare for a show in May. The past three days have included:

-making a bruise of the sky
-structuring a new website and blog
-cutting small panels to fit a selection of found frames
-reacquainting myself with the leafing process
-freeing my fingers of fingerprints
-pleading with the Burnt Umber
-pulling paint
-erasing away the unforeseen traces
-writing a press release

And now I am just waiting for the snow to fall.
